Huge, linen-backed, original 1960 Italian RE-release poster for the 19ballet-themed drama "The Red Shoes", directed by "The Archers" - Michael Powell & Emeric Pressburger - and starring
Moira Shearer, Anton Walbrook, Leonid Massine and Marius Goring. One of Martin Scorsese's favorite films, this intense film is legendary for its Technicolor cinematography (by Jack Cardiff) and its popularity with dancers and cinephiles has only increased since its original release. This poster dates from the SECOND release of the film in Italy in 1960
Size is approximately 55" x 78" inches (linen border extends about an inch all around) and condition is very fine: originally printed in two sections and issued folded, it was theater-used and in very good shape prior to linen-backing. It has been beautifully linen-backed and is ready to frame!
