Next up is this striking and excellently preserved original Belgian movie poster from the first release of Billy Wilder's Hollywood directorial debut,
The Major And The Minor
. Starring Ginger Rogers and Ray Milland, this was the story of a woman who dresses up as a child to avoid paying adult train fare only to be taken in charge of by an army man who doesn't notice the truth. This poster is from the original release of the film in Belgium. It was most likely released shortly after the war in Europe (1946 or 1947) since in is printed on the back of an ordnance map which was common practice due to paper shortages. It is linenbacked and in very good condition for a poster nearly 75 years old and the artwork is unique to the Belgian release. It rarely comes up for sale or auction and would make a great addition to anyone's classic movie poster collection.

CONDITION:
Very Good Condition On Linen. Prior to backing poster was in very good, folded and untrimmed condition. There is imprinted theater exhibition information in the top white border. Printed on the back of a map. There is slight bleed through of the map in the white border areas, but is not noticeable from afar.  This poster has been stored flat for 10 years and will be shipped rolled in a sturdy tube.
